Kanamori Alloy was established in 1714 under the auspices of the lords of the Kaga Domain (modern-day Ishikawa). Three centuries later, they launched the lifestyle brand Kamahachi in 2019, with the goal of taking advantage of their traditional techniques handed down for generations, making the most of the possibilities of metal alloys.
These lifestyle products feature clean, simple shapes, and are made with a focus on reusing the finite metal resources available to us. Much like how metals can be transformed from solids to liquids, back to solids again, Kanamori Alloy aims to produce timeless items through the Kamahachi brand with the flexibility to meet the needs of today, and the beauty to stand the test of time for centuries to come.
By taking discarded metals and turning them into desirable products, they aim to do their part in bringing about a sustainable society: recycling-based manufacturing that helps encourage the development of a greater ecosystem of metals.

What Is Sand Casting
Metal products made by pouring molten metal into a mold, allowing it to cool and solidify, and then removing it from the mold are known as castings. The process of making castings is called casting. To make a casting, a mold is needed to hold the molten metal as it is poured in. In particular, the technique of making castings using molds formed from compacted sand is known as sand casting.
Drawing on its traditional casting and refining techniques, Kanamori Alloy manufactures and supplies a wide range of products, from materials for H-IIA rocket components to copper and aluminum alloy parts for industrial machinery, as well as design-related products.

Kanamori Alloy is a long-established metal casting company based in Ishikawa, Japan. Its history dates back to 1611, when its craftsmanship was recognized by a powerful regional lord in what is now Ishikawa Prefecture. For more than 400 years, Kanamori’s artisans have created everything from decorative works and temple bells to everyday pots and kettles. Today, Kanamori continues to evolve its traditional sand casting techniques, producing materials for rocket components as well as lifestyle products that bring beauty to daily life.
